About 5WordLetters

5WordLetters is a free word finder and Wordle solver. It started with one simple goal: give word-game players a fast, clean way to find five-letter words from the letters they already know, without clutter, sign-ups or pop-ups.

Where our words come from

Our word list is built on ENABLE (Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon), a public-domain list of English words used by many word games. It currently has 8,636 five-letter words (updated September 26, 2026).

To decide which words are “common” and which are likely Wordle answers, we check how often each word appears in everyday English using the FrequencyWords dataset by Hermit Dave, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. We then remove simple plurals and past-tense forms, which Wordle rarely uses as answers. The result is a highlight, not a guarantee: every word in the list is valid, and we never copy another site’s word list or the official Wordle answer list.

Scrabble scores use the standard English tile values and do not include board bonuses.
